This is the traditional Bulgarian female vocal choir. Their music evokes images of faraway times when people lived in small villages and had a close connection with nature. I heard them in concert and they moved me to tears. Their music penetrates straight to the soul. They are even more incredible in person than they are on the CDs.

Loituma
They are a traditional Finnish folk music group that blends traditional sounds with modern sounds. These women sing accompanied by the exquisite sounds of the kantele, which is a traditional Finnish harp. The Finnish harp has played a major role in the Kaleva, which is the story of the ancient mythology of Finland. Their latest album Things of Beauty is highly recommended.
